THE DISTILLERY
The Dalmore distillery is located in the town of Alnnes (Scotland). It was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson, a merchant who lived in the Highlands, north of Scotland. In 1886, the distillery was purchased by the MacKenzie family. The link between the Mackenzie family and the 12-pointed deer logo dates back to the year 1263 when an ancestor of this family, except King Alexander III, was attacked by a deer during one of his hunts. The king in reward authorized him to wear this emblem on his coat of arms.
