THE CELLAR
Alión, whose name refers to the Leonese council in which the patriarch of the Álvarez family was born, is located just 15 kilometers from the mother house and in a very similar situation, between the course of the Duero and the road from Valladolid to Soria, in the vicinity of the wine capital of La Ribera, Peñafiel. Although the first vintages of this wine were made at the Vega Sicilia facilities, a new philosophy was applied to a wine that could not remain as the "little brother" of the great mythical wine, but rather had to be able to fly by itself. and demonstrate the virtues of terroir, climate and variety typical of the Ribera del Duero.This new winery would begin its vinification journey in the 1993 harvest
