HISTORY
Legend has it that in the year 1525 the painter Bernardino Luini, a disciple of Leonardo da Vinci, was commissioned to paint a painting of the Madonna in Saronno. The daughter of the owner of an inn served her as a model and after a few months the young woman fell in love with the painter and to show her love for him she prepared him a drink with natural ingredients that she had in her own garden.
Bernardino Luini, took this drink out of Saronno and made it known throughout Italy. Thus, the recipe was passed from hand to hand and from generation to generation for almost three centuries. In 1817, its commercialization began.
A Murano glass artisan designed the square bottle cut at the corners that has become a symbol in Saronno and throughout Italy.
This highly original liquor is currently at the forefront worldwide both in its manufacture and in its marketing.
