Indian malted barley amrut is brewed in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in a region known as the Punjab (Punjab means "the land of five rivers")
As a result of the intense temperatures and humidity, whiskey aging is almost three times faster in India compared to Scotland.
Golden colour. Aromas of barley, caramelized biscuit, coffee, dark chocolate and oak. On the palate notes of oak, smoke, citrus fruits, butter, cocoa and caramel. Long and elegant finish.

THE DISTILLERY
Amrut Distilleries was founded in 1948 under the name and style of Amrut Laboratories, with an initial investment of just a few thousand rupees. The founder was Shri JN Radhakrishna. Initially it was a local distiller supplying its products in Bangladesh which with its quality and the quality of its spirits became one of the dominant suppliers especially in the old Mysore area.
His children and descendants have made that small company a multinational brand respected both for the superlative quality of its products and its campaign for the transparent practices of the IML industry.
