ORIGIN OF CAMPARI
Its origins date back to 1860 in Milan, specifically at Café Campari, where Gaspare, a master beverage maker and founder of the company, offered his clientele an aperitif of his invention. Its characteristic flavor arose from the combination of up to 60 different ingredients. The color, according to the myth, was obtained from the turtle shell, although, at least, currently, it is the cochineal, the dye used in liquors to obtain the red color.
