THE CELLAR
Pascal Dartigalongue, founder of Armagnac in 1838, was the youngest of six siblings. This family dedicated to viticulture in Saint Lannes near Madiran, 15 km from Nogaro, from their earliest childhood they lived in the midst of vineyards, wine and brandy.
With 10,000 gold francs, a large sum at the time, given by her father as a dowry, she founded an Armagnac trading business, which remains a leader in quality to this day.
His beginnings were difficult, but he quickly understood that Armagnac was an export product. The means of transportation and the difficulty of travel forced him to interact with merchants from Bayonne, the only port in the southwest to which there was an option from Armagnac, in order to export.
His Armagnacs, sold in barrels, found their first customers in Belgium, the Netherlands and England, and also a little in the US.
From father to son, his descendants have continued to run the winery, which is completely family-owned. The strong tradition, handed down over five generations of the same family, has made this Armagnac elaborated with the greatest care.
