In 1945 the US Army stationed in Europe contacted local distilleries in France to provide their soldiers with gin. A distillery in Dijon won the exclusive contract in France to supply the gin to the US military.
The distillery ended the contract with the Americans in 1966 and stopped making this gin, continuing to make other distillates.
The original recipe was kept safely in his archive until early 2010 when Edouard Betegnie bought the rights to redo it. Since then this gin is considered one of the most prestigious premium gins , being present in a large number of countries around the world.
