THE CELLAR
Founded in 1765. When the Irishman Richard Hennessy, who had been a mercenary for King Louis XV, was compensated with land in the town of Cognac in France. Initially he would send liquor to his friends and relatives in Ireland. His son, James Hennessy, expanded the business to include cognac production. In 1987 the beverage group merged with couture firm Louis Vuitton to create what is now the world's largest luxury goods business.
It is one of the two most famous and oldest manufacturers in the Cognac region.
