THE CELLAR
In 1825, John McDonald was one of the first to legally distill his own whiskey. It comes from the Ben Nevis distillery, which lies at the foot of the highest mountains in the Scottish Highlands.
John McDonald was a local legend. The name "Long John" comes from his physique, since he was very tall, powerful and extremely sporty, something unusual at the time.
Long John's whiskey 's reputation became so important that in 1848, Queen Victoria visited the Ben Nevis distillery in person.
