THE DISTILLERY

Licores Portet was founded in 1884 by the Ribera de Cal Collector de Cuencas brothers in a place located next to the Pozo de la Pobla de Segur spring. Years later, the three brothers married the daughters of Josep Borrell and Treserra and opened a store for the sale of liquors in the old Calle del Valle, known today as Avenida de San Miguel del Pui, where they later moved. factory.

It was in 1949 when Joan Portet Mir, son of Salàs de Pallars, started working in the factory as a partnership with the Ribera family, the descendants of which showed no interest in continuing the business. In 1952, Juan Portet acquired the business and a few years later also the property.

Those were years of great activity with the sale of liquors in bulk throughout the Pallars mountain, Ribagorça and the Aran Valley.
