THE DISTILLERY
Talking about rum and its origin invariably involves mentioning the Canary Islands. These islands were an obligatory passage for the first shipments of Sugar Cane that left the Indian East to the Caribbean countries.
The first alembics or alquitaras were installed by Flemish and Genoese masters in Tenerife, at the beginning of the 17th century and from there it spread to Gran Canaria, El Hierro and La Palma.
Ron Aldea was founded in 1936 by Manuel Quevedo in the Gran Canaria municipality of the Village of San Nicolás de Tolentino. Today it is the fourth generation that keeps alive the spirit of the first rum masters.
