THE DISTILLERY
In 1959 Licorerías Unidas together with the Canadian Seagrams Company began to produce rums matured for 2 years at the Saruro Hacienda in Lara State in western Venezuela, with its own sugarcane plantations and mineral water reserves. The rum is distilled by hand in copper stills. In 1961, the first bottles of Ron Cacique were released on the market.
