THE DISTILLERY
In the valleys of Ocumare del Tuy, in Venezuela, there is a secret jealously guarded by a select few, the Pampero Master Aging Masters. A tradition elevated to the category of the Art of aging an exceptional rum in oak barrels.
Industrias Pampero was founded by Alejandro Hernández, the son of a fisherman from Isla de Margarita, in 1938. It is located on a 19th century family property formerly called "Hacienda La Guadalupe" in the fertile central plains of Ocumare, Miranda state. Its creator later dedicated himself to politics, becoming governor of the state of Nueva Esparta and was even a presidential candidate. Today the company belongs to the Diageo Group.
